Field Report – Volume VI
We ate “taro root pancrepes” for breakfast. I’m convinced it was a gimmick to entice tourists because the ‘pancrepes’ were not purple, nor were they crepes… but they were pretty good.
here is most of the pictures from today are…
We drove out to the same spot we snorkeled at yesterday and devoted a long time to the pursuit of watching tropical fish poop in the water. It’s really fun to watch and hear the parrot fish eating coral. We spent a couple hours snorkeling and took a bunch of pictures, unfortunately we can’t find any place to get them developed! It’s ISO 800 film, so I’m a little concerned about the x-ray machines at the airport tomorrow… If all else fails I’ll draw a picture of it.

Both Abbie and I are certainly feeling those few hours in the water… Thankfully, we picked up some SolarCaine on our search for 1-hour photo processing.

We decided to relax a bit and walk around the Kona Temple grounds, they had these really cool sculpted looking palm trees.
And then got some shaved ice and watched the sun set…

The plan was to go back out after a bit and eat some dinner, but after liberally applying the solarcaine and Abbie started watching “Dancing with the Stars” (Which is basically televised morphine for me) I fell asleep, and didn’t wake up until morning (hence the late update).
One last day in paradise! With Abbie’s “condition” it will be spent largely indoors… to quote Abbie “I can feel tropical inside”. Maybe we’ll do some more snorkeling or shopping a little later.
